OESTECH Hackfest 2025 is a premier innovation challenge in Puerto Rico, designed to inspire, empower, and connect the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, and changemakers. Hosted in collaboration with the Bravo Family Foundation and Evolving Space Corp., this hackathon brings together students, innovators, and community leaders to solve real-world challenges through creativity, technology, and teamwork.
What makes OESTECH Hackfest unique is its focus on impact-driven entrepreneurship. Over the course of the event, participants will not only develop prototypes and business ideas but also learn how to transform those ideas into viable ventures with the power to shape Puerto Rico’s future. With mentorship from experienced professionals, workshops on emerging technologies, and guidance in business model development, teams will gain a 360° perspective on building solutions that matter.
The Hackfest is more than a competition—it’s a launchpad for innovation. Participants will walk away with new skills, a strong entrepreneurial mindset, and the confidence to pursue bold ideas. Judges and mentors include executives, founders, and leaders from across the island and beyond, making this a rare opportunity to gain exposure, feedback, and connections that extend far past the event itself.

Requirements
To compete in OESTECH Hackfest 2025, each team must deliver two core components:
1. Pitch Presentation (5 minutes)
-
A clear and compelling pitch (~5 minutes) delivered during the final competition.
-
The pitch must cover the Problem, Solution, Why Now, Market Size, Competition, Product (Prototype), Business Model, and Team.
-
Presentations should be concise, easy to understand, and persuasive to both technical and non-technical judges.
-
Teams may use slides, visual aids, or storytelling techniques to strengthen their pitch.
2. Prototype Demonstration (1 minute)
-
A working prototype that shows how the solution would look and function in practice.
-
This does not need to be a fully developed MVP, but it must demonstrate core features and user flow, so judges can clearly visualize the solution.
-
Acceptable formats include:
-
Clickable mockups or design prototypes (e.g., Figma, Canva, etc.)
-
AI-generated prototypes (e.g., Lovable, Google Firebase Studio, or other vibe coding tools) – highly encouraged for speed and creativity
-
Simple functional demos or mock implementations that simulate the experience
-
Hardware sketches or visual demonstrations (if applicable)
-
-
The goal is to make your idea tangible and interactive, showing that it can move from concept to reality.

Judging Criteria
-
Creativity & Innovation
How original and inventive the idea is. Judges consider whether the project introduces a new approach or applies existing concepts in a fresh way. -
Problem Relevance & Impact
How well the project addresses a real, meaningful problem and the potential scale of its positive impact on communities, industries, or society. -
Prototype & User Experience
The quality of the working prototype and how clearly it demonstrates the solution through an intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing design. -
Feasibility & Business Value
The practicality of the solution and whether it has a clear path to sustainability, adoption, and growth in the real world. -
Implementation & Resourcefulness
How effectively the team used available time, tools, and resources (AI prototyping platforms, design tools, etc.) to bring their idea to life. This rewards smart execution over raw coding. -
Presentation & Storytelling
The clarity, structure, and persuasiveness of the pitch. Judges assess how well the team communicates the problem, solution, and value within the 5-minute limit.
